Wool Dryer Balls by The Willow Store Review and #Rafflecopter #Giveaway (11/22)
I am now a firm believer in natural Wool Dryer Balls, specifically from The Willow Store!
Whether you cloth diaper your babies or not, we’ve all experienced times when our clothes dryer takes entirely too long to dry a load of clothes. Those of you with newer HE dryers may not have the issues that I have with my prehistoric dryer, but one thing is for sure – dryers can be a huge energy sucker!
With my dryer, when I wash and dry a load of denim jeans or cloth diapers, I am not able to get more than two or three loads done in one day. My washer takes about 45 minutes to wash a load, however, my dryer has a 70 minute setting, and I have to run the clothes through one and a half times for them to get dry.
Depending on the humidity and if I’m drying diapers, I often have to run the cycle two and a half times. Yes, that’s 140 minutes which translates to MORE THAN TWO HOURS!
After I had the opportunity to review a Set of 3 Wool Dryer Balls from the Willow Store, it’s actually almost unfathomable that I only have to run a regular load a laundry through one 70 minute cycle (on non-humid days). And.. get this… cloth diapers only took about 90 minutes to dry! That is absolutely FANTASTIC! I could not be more happy with a product. These are going to save me so much money, time, and sanity!
We do not use chemical fabric softener, and wool dryer balls are a fantastic alternative fabric softener.

The ONLY issue I had with these, is that the boys actually thought (how dare them) that these awesome green tennis balls belonged to them! We just set them straight from the get-go and told them that they were “laundry beaters” and they can’t touch them because we would hate for them to beat the laundry on their backs. They haven’t touched them!

I like the lime the best!
I like the Plum!
I forgot to say that my dryer takes about 45 minutes for a regular load of clothes. For heavy things I have to run it at least an hour and I have to put towels on the 75 or 90 minute setting in order to get them dry enough that they don’t smell all mildewy the second they get wet again.
Ohhhh, I could definitely use those! Things take too long in the dryer over here, too! And since we bought the house, well, electric bill savings are a huuuuge deal!
I love the Lime ones! My dryer takes forever to dry denim and heavier fabrics. To save money (and if I have time), I let them hang dry for awhile. Otherwise, it takes almost 2 full cycles.
I would pick the assorted set because it is too hard to pick a color. I do like the sound of the grape jelly ones though. 🙂
I like the Lime!
I think the assorted colors would work fine. I don’t really have a preference.
We have days here where it will take 3 and 4 cycles through the dryer. Humidity is just so bad and the way they have our machines vented stinks!!
We have cattle and pig farms near us so hanging clothing outside isn’t an option they end up stinking! Yuck!
For a normal load our dryer takes about 42 minutes. I think I’d choose green, but the color isn’t hugely important since I won’t be staring at them a lot. 🙂
You know, you’d be surprised how much the color actually matters when you’re fishing them out of the clothes! hahah! 🙂
I really like the Lime ones!!
I love the dragonberry!
I don’t typically dry my diapers, but when I do, the inserts take about 80 minutes. I would love to use the dryer balls with my regular laundry.
I’ve just started learning about wool within the last week and it really is amazing!
I like natural the best!
Your gift guide had a good selection for all ages. Would prefer more eco friendly products, but still a good selection
I would choose the Grape Jelly! It’s a perfect purple lol
My dryer takes about 120 minutes to fully dry the cotton or hemp inserts. If I’m just drying the microfiber inserts & my cloth wipes it only takes about 45-50 minutes. But I usually don’t run it until they’re completely dry unless I’m in a hurry. I usually run it about 30 minutes & then hang them to dry the rest of the way.
PLUM! My dryer works pretty well, less than an hour…maybe 45 min?
Definitely want the Kindle Fire!
I would like the plum – and it takes me running my dryer TWO TIMES to dry our clothes – UGH!
I like the Sony Camera for me and the indoor helicopter for my son!
