Good News Sites!Not too long ago, I posted on my Facebook page about my disgust of the news stations and their only-report-negative-happenings the news and on their websites.

Sadly, if you visit one of the local, Houston area news sites RIGHT NOW, the headlines are appalling!  I can’t be the only person who has noticed that there’s nothing good reported, and SURELY the writers and producers could come up with something positive to say during the holidays.  These are yesterday’s headlines (because I refuse to go back today and look):

-Sources: Woman to be charged in 12 year old boy’s disappearance
-CPS: Police questioning person about baby found in dumpster
-Police: Pastor with criminal record caught burglarizing church member’s home
-Pregnant woman loses unborn child in drunk driving accident
-Body of burned child found in ditch
-Texas blues guitarist killed in collision with Crosby school bus

The only positive I really see is when the bad guy is caught, justice is served, or something good happens because of something bad that spawned it such as:

-Benefit fund, blood drive set for Fort Bend County deputy injured in crash
-Court upholds Baby Grace murder conviction
-Arbitrator: Officer fired over alleged beating of teen burglar should be reinstated

Then there’s the NON-news that’s basically crummy filler like:

-FireGaryKubiak.com has been taken down
-Car buyers seek year-end deals
-MTV ‘Teen Mom’ charged with abuse for attacking boyfriend
-Favre fined $50K for ‘failure to cooperate’

REALLY?

I rarely ever see positive news anymore – on any station or publication, so I decided to search for a positive news source!  I couldn’t really Google “Positive Houston News“, because then I ran across the following headlines:

-Students test positive for TB
-HIV positive singer sorry for infecting lovers

5 Websites with GOOD NEWS

Great News!Not what I was looking for at all!  I decided to search for “Positive News Sites” and although there’s not one for a specific location, here’s what I ran across:

Happy News – Real News. Compelling Stories.  Always Positive

Good News Network – A daily dose of compelling good news!

Gimundo – Good News… Served Daily

The truth of the matter is, it’s kinda hard to find 5 sites that I agreed with that had nothing but good current news (or that I could read the language!).  One man’s political good news isn’t always another’s, and one man’s religious good news – well, you know where that’s going.  Let’s just say.. not everyone has the same views!

Most of the sites I found aren’t really current events or updated daily like these sites of complied older news:

Up Beat – Positive, Optimistic, Inspiring Good News Stories

Good News Gazette – News at the Speed of Nice

Nonetheless, good news sites are out there!  If you’re like me and you’re tired of the evening negative news, yet you’re looking for great GOOD news sites, bookmark the ones I’ve stated above!  It’s always great to add a little positivity to your day!
