Chilean Miners are Mickey Bound

My heart has a special place for these guys and their families.  I remember sitting, for hours, watching the CNN feed of their rescue!  I wans’t as focused on the miners as I was focused on the faces and body language of their family members once they were pulled out of that tube.

Guess who is going to DISNEY WORLD?  According to the Associated Press, 31 of the 33 Chilean miners, their families, and four rescue workers are headed to see Mickey in a party of about 160 people this week.

Their trip will include a seven-day, six-night stay and $500 gift card per family for expenses!  If that isn’t enough, the miners will also be  grand marshals for a special parade in the Magic Kingdom on Monday!

Disney president and CEO Bob Iger offered to pay for the miners to visit the Orlando attraction shortly after their rescue.

This is such fantastic news for these guys and their families.  How fun!

The Chilean miners, who were rescued after 69 days underground last year, were the center of attention around the globe after the entrance shaft collapsed leaving them trapped.
