Operator Error.. or Pregnancy Brain?
This morning, I stumbled into the kitchen to make coffee. I’ve recently started using my coffee maker again, because right now, my french press is just more of a pain than anything.
I have this Mr. Coffee 8 cup coffee maker. I love it, because it’s idiot proof, and no hassle – until this morning.
I also use this type of reusable coffee filter, because there is absolutely no sense in making a lot of waste or spending extra money just for coffee!
I do my little morning routine… Add coffee to the filter, refill my Brita water pitcher, and so on and so forth.
I hit the brew button, and come sit at my computer to get some work done before the boys wake up.
I hear beeeeep beeeeeep beeeeeeep, like two seconds after I sit down. That doesn’t make sense to me, because it usually takes a few minutes to brew the coffee, and that’s the sound you hear when it’s done.
I go back in the kitchen, and hit the brew button again thinking it was a fluke. Beeeeeep beeeeeeep beeeeeep.
*Sigh*
I take another look, just to see if I’ve messed up some kind of setting or something. I’ve only had this coffee maker for 8 or 9 months (well, less than a year), so I’m thinking SURELY it’s not messed up.
I push brew again. Two seconds later.. Beeeeeep beeeeeeep beeeeeeeeep.
Frustrated, I turn around to grab my water pitcher to get my press ready to just make coffee the old fashioned way, and it hit me.
I never added water to the coffee maker.
I think I’m going to need to start using sticky notes.
Well be glad you didn’t forget to put the filter in. I made “cowboy coffee” last pregnancy that way… and yep, blame the pregnancy brain. I would.
Bwah ha ha! Glad I am not the only one that has done that!
I’ve done that whe I used my coffee maker. So don’t feel bad – I’m sure it is baby brain. =)
You’ve got to get a Keurig, they are fabulous!
Second only to a French press.
You just missed something but thats normal even men who never get to experienced pregnancy commits the same mistake. Even me I had things on my own done imperfectly. Don’t be upset with the pregnancy thing for everybody was bound to commit mistakes.
