Slap Gear Slap Watches – Two for $10 Groupon Deal.
For Christmas, I bought a Slap Gear Watch Groupon for Kylie. These watches are pretty cool, and they take me back to my childhood when we had slap bracelets! I can remember them being banned from schools because they were so much of a distraction! Kylie likes these watches so much, she asked if she could have two more colors!
The shipping on these is really slow, so don’t expect them in next week. You have to take the watch part out of the band to change the time. Once you do that, they pop out easily.
The first set we ordered, it took over a month and a half and several emails to receive them. My daughter ended up wanting two more colors, so I thought I’d try them again, and I had no problems. I received them within about a week of shipping.

I also ordered 2 Slap gear watches, but my experience was much different. Neither watch worked. When I contacted Slap Gear, they never offered to replace them or repair them. Now, I have to pay to return them.
Mine weren’t working either, then I popped the watches out and noticed there was a little plastic piece slid under where you would change the time (I think to protect the battery life). It began to work immediately 🙂 Good luck!
I contacted them and it took 3 days to get a response. Bad customer service. I think they are a 1 man show. Not professional at all.
I am going to email groupon and demand a refund.
I ordered on Nov 5 and still have not received them. Customer service is pathetic. Groupon got involved and Slapgear said they were re-sending the order in early Jan. Still nothing. BEWARE of this company.
Ordered from Slap Gear on December 17, 2011. It is now February 11, 2012. Still no watches, but have been told via email from Slap Gear that two different orders were shipped (on Dec 23rd and the week of Jan 19th). Neither order arrived. They don’t return voice mail messages and rarely respond to email.
Check our Slap Gear’s facebook page, you’ll see there are many people who are very unhappy with their service (or lack thereof) and the product quality.
Groupon has been very helpful, but I don’t think they should align themselves with a company that takes people’s money and then doesn’t deliver.
Unbelievable! Haven’t received my watch, can’t get any response from them by phone or email, and I’ve called over a dozen times over a two week period and emailed every day.
They are the worst company I’ve ever dealt with, and I’ve dealt with some terrible companies before. Please, please, please, please nobody buy anything from SlapGear. You’ll be disappointed that you did and they need to go out of business for screwing over everyone who bought a watch from them.
I ordered from this company 1/20/2012, haven’t received my watches, can’t get anyone to answer the phone, they don’t reply to emails,will never order from this company again..
I really wish I did my research on their terrible shipping before buying the Groupon deal. It was so hard to resist and the watches looked great. I ordered more than a month ago and havent received my watches yet. I called and emailed. Got a response after 3 days saying that either color out of stock or delay in shipment and it will be sent tomorrow. Its more than 2 weeks now and nothing yet. Plus they are sending it by regular mail. So they said expect to see it in your post box. It definitely is a 1 man show. The voice recorder and the guy who answered once is the same person. I am so upset with their ethics. U got my money now give me my watches.
I ordered my watches back in January and still have not received them!!! I emailed and received no response and no one answers their phone! I will be contacting groupon about their terrible customer service!
I also bought through Groupon. I placed the order for the watches on January 22. I received an e-mail confirming the shipment on February 4. On February 16 I sent an e-mail advising that I had never received the shipment. I received a reply the same day stating that the order “shipped as of last week” and to allow until the end of the week because it was sent by USPS. Naturally, I never received my order, so I sent another e-mail on February 22 asking for the tracking number or requesting that my order be re-shipped. I have not received a response. I will have to contact Groupon. This was the first time I had bought something through Groupon. It might also be the last time. I am thinking that contacting the Better Business Bureau and my Attorney General’s office might be good ideas as well.
I also order from Slap Gear – Groupon Special. Have not received them, it’s been over a month. I’m told by an automated response “Thank you for contacting Groupon. Due to the high e-mail volume, we are running behind our normal 24 hour response time. We are battling this volume with every tool we have at our disposal and feel confident that we will emerge victorious. This victory will result in a detailed response to your email, a swift resolution of your issue and a warm feeling in your belly.”
Still nothing. No response. No Watches. Horrible company & customer service. Trying to get a refund from groupon.
I apologize, that response was from Groupon not Slap Gear. Slap Gear responds that my order is “processing” and “no tracking # is available”
I ordered slap bracelets through groupon in January. I have email twice and still not recieved my order. I am very disappointed.
I ordered from groupon never recieved watches now 2 1/2 months later severl voicemails(with no response) and sever emails back and forth them telling me oh its shipped now 3 times… and NO watches!!!!!
Ordered from Groupon as well… BAD BUSINESS!!! Buyer beware!!! Three times now they have said they shipped my item and to allow 5-8 business days to recieve… they do no pick up thier ohone and do not call back to voicemails… seems like they are collecting everyones money and not shipping anything!
This outfit is BAD NEWS! Save your $10. I bought the Groupon (2 watches for $10) and ordered them 17 January. I received a notice that my order was being processed. When I didn’t receive the watches, I emailed them and got a response (several days later) on 08 February that my order was still being processed and that they would ship in 10-14 days. I still haven’t received the watches. At this point, it will only TICK ME OFF (bad pun) to wear one and be reminded of their pathetic customer service.
I bought 4 watches received my watches but only one of them worked. And like previously mentioned, no return phone calls or emails. Wont buy from slap gear again.

Contact Groupon through their customer service posted on Groupon.com – I did and they processed a refund to my account today.
I am also one of the numerous customers who bought from Slap Gear using Groupon and It has been over a month. Now they say my watches will be here in 7-10 business days (March 12) but I’m not holding my breath. AWFUL company!
Hi. I’ve also bought this groupon. I got a reply when I complained in my second email.
“Your order was placed successfully. The free shipping special usually takes 10-14 business days. Your order is currently processing, however we anticipate shipment in the next couple of days. You will be notified via e-mail once your order has shipped. Thanks and have a great day!”
This was 12 days ago I got the reply and still no watches, and no email that they have been shipped.
I ordered a couple watches through Groupon. Never received them. Multiple calls and emails have gone unanswered. I’m requesting a refund and filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. It just appears that they’re scamming people.
I have the same complaints others have listed above. Because of this, I have reason to believe this is a scam and a front to get credit card information. Yes, even if you’re redeeming a Groupon you still have to enter CC information for tax. The emails from them are generic, non-commital and sound completely false. This “company” is one step away from the “prince” in Nigera requesting that you give your bank account information so his father can send you money to get him to the states. If you have not placed your order yet, I advise you to contact Groupon for a refund and don’t give SlapGear your CC info. I’ve informed Groupon of my thoughts and have asked for a refund. This “company” has probably commited credit card fraud and identity theft.
I’m sorry you had to give them credit card info. You must live in the state where they operate. I did not have to give any cc info, thank God! This company is truly a ripoff!
I am also disgusted with this company. I received an e-mail stating my order had shipped on December 23, 2011. It is now March 8, 2012, and I have yet to receive anything. I contacted the company via e-mail and also through their phone number. I was actually able to speak with someone on two different occasions who told me that my order had gone out and to give it a couple of days. I would contact them again after a few weeks and was told that they would have a new order sent out and if I received both to go ahead and keep for my troubles. Again, weeks would pass and still no product. My last contact with them was the first week of February and I told them I needed the watches for my trip. I was again told that they would rush another order out and that they could not believe I had not received anything. Again, it is now March 8, 2012, and no watches. I have tried every day to reach someone in their office and keep getting their message, “Thank you for calling Slapgear. We are currently assisting other customers. Our hours of operation are from 9 am to 6 pm Central Standard time. You can also e-mail us at help@slapgear.net and a representative will get back with you.” It is terrible that this company is connected with Groupon who usually has such great deals. I feel terrible because I also gave a certificate to a coworker for Christmas. If anyone has a suggestion other than a refund, I’m all ears.
hmmmm…guess I’m not alone with poor service with Slap Gear. I also ordered in January through Groupon. I did receive a quick response to my email about shipment being delayed by their supplier. But to date have not recieved the watches. Quite frankly I don’t even want them now. Writing Groupon to get a refund today. Thank goodness this was not my first Groupon experience or I would have thought I was scammed. They usually deal with pretty reputable companies and their customer service has been very helpful to me in the past.

I agree with everything that has been said. Incredibly unprofessional company with terrible customer service. Still waiting on watches ordered a month and a half ago. If they can’t hand high volume of orders, then don’t register with groupon. Pretty straight forward for any intelligent business owner, which apparently slap gear does not have. Will never do business with again.
Do NOT order from Slapgear.net. I have contacted them 3 times through email and 4 times through leaving a message on their phone number and have NEVER received a response. Ordered on Feb 5 and still have not received. I contacted Groupon and they have processed a credit back to my account. This company is a ripoff!
Update: Contacted Groupon and within 4 days the order with Slap Gear was cancelled and my Groupon account was credited $10. Very pleased with Groupon service….Slap Gear no so much.
Much like everyone else, I ordered 2 watches on Jan. 23 using my Groupon and have not received any watches or replies to my SIX attempts to contact them on the order status. I have just contacted Groupon and will be asking for a refund on my purchase if they do not have a satisfactory response from Slap Gear. I am totally disgusted with this company.
Same story here. Ordered on 1/23 and no watches almost two months later. Several emails and phone messages later, I have received emails stating that they gave me the wrong order number in a previous email, my watches would be shipped within the week (got that one twice), and that they are having issues with their supplier that are out of Slap Gear’s control. Most recent email received on 3/7 –
“We apologize for the delay in shipping and we definitely understand the frustration with this situation. Your order is still currently processing. There is not an estimated delivery date; however our shipping team is working diligently to complete all orders as quickly as possible. You will be notified via e-mail once shipped.”
Planning to contact Groupon for a refund.
I just checked the site again and if you click on “billing agreements” it shows an ad for 24/7 customer service and the phone number begins with 555, a f%$^king fake number. What a scam, I wish I could get my hands on those inbred idiots. I ordered 2 watches in Jan. and I really don’t expect to get them now. Let’s get a posse together and go take care of this ourselves.
Update on my March 14th update: Received a email from Slap Gear that my watches have shipped..smh! I already have my Groupon refund, they cancelled my order. I dont want the watches PERIOD! Slap Gear is really a shoddy run business, dont they check their cancellations before they ship the product. No wonder there arent enough watches for people who actually want them..ugh pitiful!
It took more than 8 weeks to deliver the watches (ordered 1/20, received 3/26). No compensation for the delay. Pathetic customer service. The product quality is hardly worth the deal from Groupon – the dial looks like it was painted carelessly, the movement is cr*ppy… looks like some “inbred idiots” trying to make a quick buck by aligning themselves with Groupon… piece of advice for Groupon – don’t get too close to sh*t or you’ll get some on you (as is CLEARLY the case here).
I also ordered from them through groupon (and order 2 as gifts)–got nothing. No response to emails. Tried calling and the phone went from one ring to a fast busy. I will be contacting Groupon to get my money back, especially after reading what I have here.
Also ordered through groupon, it’s been three months, and no watches. I did get one email response, and then nothing happened. I’m not happy with this company at all, horrible service and and it looks like not a great product.
Ordered 4 watches- first pair delivered after complaing- 2nd set still waiting on – over a month. Wish I had seen the better business bureau rating before buying watches. Poor response to email and phone calls. will not deal with them again!

I purchased Slap Gear through Groupon. It took almost two months to Receive my watches. They came in a bubble envelope and wrapped around shipping package. This company IS one of the worst. I’ve had watches for 3 weeks and they don’t work. I was going to call company but after reading reviews, I’ll take the $20 loss.

I has been over a month and NO watches. I emailed and they said they were being shipped out. When I checked my account it said all items had been shipped. This place sounds a lot like Savemore.com. I wonder if it’s part of their scams.
I am so disappointed with Slap Gear. It will be the first and definitely the last time I am going to order from them. It is almost 2 months since I have placed my order and still have not received but 1 correspondence from the company informing me that they will ship my order out. That was more than a month ago. In this day and age, businesses like Slap Gear will not survive for more than a few year since people are now pickier about customer service.
I placed order last week in March and have not received my watches either. After 11 days i emailed them and did get a response saying orders ship 10-14 days later. I gave it another week and have since emailed a couple times and called and gotten no response. Complete scam of a company. Do not order from them.
