I dream of custom closets! Preferably, my own!
I live with a teenage girl. I’m not sure if you know what all comes with a teenage girl, but aside from drama and sports as well as always striving to have perfect hair and makeup, they have stuff. Loads and loads of stuff.
I wasn’t quite prepared to have to give up a closet in the office as a spill over, of sorts, but it’s happened! She has everything from clothes and shoes to guinea pig supplies in both of her closets with overflowing closet organizers in each.
Have you ever seen the movie Overboard with Kurt Russel and Goldie Hawn? Well, Dean (Russel’s character) is a contractor, and he builds this elaborate closet for Johanna/Annie (Hawn’s character). Every time we watch that movie, Kylie oogles over the custom closet he builds and would love more than anything to have one.
If anyone deserves custom closets, it’s got to be me and Andy! Andy shares a closet with the boys, and I share a closet with Jett and anything that we want out of site and out of mind! I would love to have a built in dresser and shoe racks as well as a place to organize Jett’s cloth diapers! (However, ultimately, I’d like to have a closet of my own!) Right now, I’m using Kylie’s old dresser (can’t you tell) from when she was in cloth diapers!!!, and a clothes basket for shoes!
Is your closet like mine, and just thrown together, or do you have a custom set up?
That rod looks EXACTLY like my daughters closet! I would love love love to have a custom closet, like the one Big made for Carrie on S$X in the City!!
OMG I LOVE Overboard! I would also love to have custom closets too!
I try to keep mine organized, now that it is just me using it. But I can tell you, back when my kids were teens, I even had to tell my son that my closet was off limits! He wanted to wear some of my best T-shirts!
