Schools send home so much paper! #Recycle Me!
Kylie was all excited when we moved to this school district, because rather than textbooks, they district issues laptops loaded curriculum in the form of documents. That’s cool, because if you’re not issuing text books, you’re actually saving trees and water, right? Says the mother who only has kids in middle school and above! The other schools send home so much paper!
I feel like the amount of paper saved in the higher level grades is being sent home, 10 fold, from the elementary and kindergarten schools!
Holy Paperwork, Batman.
Seriously, We’ve never had so many papers sitting around our house at one time.. ever!
Most of this stuff can be emailed or posted on the school’s website.
What do you do with all of the paper that comes home with your little one? I like to hang on to the artwork for a while, but what about the days that they give them 5 or 6 different papers to color or write on in one day? It’s such a waste!
We have this cool little Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler that we use for papers and smaller items, there is no routine recycle pick-up, here. You actually have to go down to the county annex, during the week (when they are open), get a dump pass, and when you’re recyclables get full, take them to the dump (when they are open), and toss them in the recycle bins.
I really love it here, but I feel like I’m out of my element. I’m trying to get plugged in a little more to bring just a bit of my lifestyle to this small town!
