Roux Maison Laundry Detergent Review & Giveaway | #ClothDiaper Safe (2/28)
As a cloth diaper mom, I’m always on the look out for new, eco-friendly cloth diaper safe detergents. I’ve found a couple that are tried and true, for me, including one of my own recipes, however, when I ran across info on a detergent that claimed to be a sport detergent that actually helps fabrics retain breathability, moisture wicking, and waterproofing properties, I knew I just had to try it!
A complete family of environmentally friendly, fabric-specific laundry detergents, each precisely tailored to conserve your various fabrics and address all of your laundering needs while keeping your home and family safe from unnecessary, harmful chemicals.
Roux Maison Laundry Detergent Review
Although the Roux Maison Sport Detergent sounds fantastic for cloth diaper covers, shells and AIO outers because it helps preserve the waterproofing properties, I actually reviewed the Delicate Detergent that is fragrance free. I use a lot of flats, prefolds, and receiving blankets (faux flats!), so this detergent is perfect for my cloth diaper routine.
The load of diapers that I did while facilitating this review, were extra soiled, for some reason. Jett, my 16 month old, eats solids, but he also has just as much breastmilk as he does food, so his solid poop is actually more of a semi-solid with the yellowing stains that exclusive breastfed poop produces.
I did a cold rinse with no detergent, and then did a full cycle with the recommended amount of detergent. One the final rinse of the cycle, there were no suds and clear water, so I decided not to do an additional rinse (which I never really do, anyway), as it didn’t seem like it was needed.
After the load was finished, upon inspection of the dirtiest faux flat, I was very pleased to see only light staining which can be easily taken care of by sunning the flat. I’m telling you, this was a pretty nasty diaper, and the only one that had any kind of stain, which was completely expected, especially since I did not do any soaking or an additional rinse.
I am extremely pleased with the way the Roux Maison Detergent cleans my diapers.
