Four Apps that Every High School Student Needs | #highschool #teens
High school is stressful for both teenagers and their parents. Between homework, prepping for the SAT, and fitting in all the extra curricular activities, it’s no wonder anxiety is on the rise among teenagers. Thankfully, technology is helping to reduce the stress and worry with some awesome apps.
myHomework Student Planner- This app is the best thing since Spotify made mobile playlists free to use. First, it’s very clean and user friendly which I love. Secondly, on top of keeping track of homework assignments and exams, students are rewarded with Amazon credits, movie tickets, and food coupons for completely assignments. The best part? It’s one hundred percent free.
Dictionary and Thesaurus App– Textbooks are already heavy and no one has time to lug a dictionary around in their backpack. This app works offline and has the largest collection of words out of any dictionary app on iTunes.
SAT Up- I found this app to be extremely helpful while studying for the SAT. With a personalized workout available each day that takes a few minutes to complete, students can stay on top of prepping for the SAT. You get a detailed progress report on what you need to work on and what you’re doing great at!
Duolingo- Learning a language is hard, but Duolingo makes it a bit easier with this app. Students can start from the basics and work their way up, practicing new and old words each day. I mainly used this for practicing Spanish, but they have other options such as French, English, German, Russian, and Italian. For students who like to learn American Sign Language, then they may consider taking up Online American Sign Language Classes.
I’m a student at a local christian high school and I’ve personally used all of the above apps. They’re all free and definitely worth the download, or at the very least looking into.
