Do you wear flip flops year round? Or just during the summer? #flipflops #summer
I live in flip flops.
It’s actually kind of funny, because most people can’t wait until Spring arrives so that they can shop for the latest in flip flop and sandal fashion, however, I am the mama who wears flip flops year round.
I’m pretty sure that I’ll pay for it when I’m older, but right now, I’m perfectly happy with a different pair of flip flops for every occasion, and if I’m wearing dress shoes or tennis shoes for whatever reason, I can’t wait to kick them off and slide into flips. As a matter of fact, each Christmas and birthday that rolls around for me, my mother-in-law is so awesome that she buys me a new pair each time.
I have different flip flops for church and flip flops for business meetings, flip flops for every day running around town and flip flops for the beach, flip flops for yard work, and I even have flip flops for house shoes!
It’s actually the time of year for me to gear up for my annual new pair of more sporty women’s flip flops for general summer wear. I think I’m going to go with yellow this year!
I really like the fashionable footwear from Reef.com, because you can find anything from sporty flip flops to more dressy leather sandals for women and men. You can choose from handcrafted leather to lightweight essential sandals.
I can remember when I was little, my dad had a pair of green flip flops. Looking back, I have no idea why I grew up calling them flip flops, because they were called “thongs” back then. Of course, thongs are something totally different, now, but we always got a kick out of my redneck dad playing around with the word and calling them “thangs”. I can just hear him now, “Lisa, bring me my thangs.” Man, I miss those days.
He must have evolved with the times, because I haven’t heard him call them thangs in quite some time, and now, he sports a pair of mens leather sandals!
The Teen is happier in girls sandals, and the big thing right now among the teens in our town is “Jesus sandals”! Why they’re called that, I have no idea, because I’m pretty sure what they’re wearing does not resemble anything close to what Jesus would have worn back in the day! My hubby would rather wear slides or mens leather sandals than flips, and my boys are perfectly happy with no shoes at all!
