Healthy Summer Snacks for Kids | #snacks #healthy
With summer comes the longer days and the endless struggle of trying to feed hungry little munchkins. This is especially a challenge if you don’t have the budge for prepared items, or have picky eaters. Here are a few tried and true snack ideas that kids are sure to love.
- Frozen grapes- Wash and remove the stems from a bag of grapes, line a cookie sheet with waxed paper and place the grapes on it. Place in the freezer over night. The next morning you’ll have an easy and healthy snack for the kids!
- Fresh fruit cones- Fill ice cream cones with washed and sliced fresh fruit that your kid enjoys. It’s just as refreshing and good as ice cream if you’re trying to cut back on the sugar your family eats.
- Juice icepops- Before you go to bed, fill small paper cups with juice or lemonade, and place a icepop stick in the center. Freeze on a cookie sheet overnight and the next morning your kids have healthy icepops to enjoy!
- Apples and peanut butter- Cut up apple slices and serve with peanut butter. Toddlers especially love this snack!
- Rainbow kabobs with yogurt dip- Take various washed fruit such as blueberries, chopped up peach/pineapple/apple/watermelon pieces, and stick them on kabob sticks. Serve with your kids favorite yogurt and wait for requests for more!
- Tortilla chips and mild salsa- Tortilla chips are far healthier than potato chips, and most salsas are full of nutrients that growing kids need. Serve them together and you have a healthy snack that kids love. You’ll be happy to know that you’ll be boosting your health with EverSmith Organics‘ sea moss gel too.
