Netflix: School’s in for Summer | #StreamTeam
With just under a month left in Summer Vacation here in the East Houston area, we’re still trying to stay as far away from school oriented topics as we can! This district works the kids pretty hard, so we’re happy to have this much needed long break! The good thing is, with Netflix, they can learn even if they don’t know it! I really like how you can set different profiles for different members of your family.
For The Minion, Netfilx has great educations movies and shows from which to choose. I can remember when I was younger, and some my favorite books were Busytown! I love finding the matching picture to the words, and just looking at all the fun characters to see what they were doing! I love that Richard Scarry’s creations are on Netflix now. The Minion is a fan of LeapFrog! He likes that several of his toys come to life on TV.
Here are some great choices for your younger kiddos!
1. The Great Mouse Detective
2. Busytown Mysteries
3. LeapFrog: Math Adventures to the Moon
4. Turtle: The Incredible Journey
5. The Magic School Bus
Now the Gamer and the Entertainer like that their Xboxes are versatile enough to not only play games, but to act as a Netflix hub as well. The Gamer is really into nature documentaries, and at one time, he used to rattle off all the different types of dinosaurs and their stats. The show Walking with Dinosaurs is a great show for elementary age kids!
1. Lewis & Clark: The Journey Out West
2. Walking with Dinosaurs
3. Secret Yellowstone
4. The Blue Planet
5. When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions
I’m not going to lie. If I were to go look at the Teenager’s queue and history right now, I’d not find a single education program! She just started watching One Tree Hill, and she’s pretty much hooked on that. They’re mostly in school, right?
The boys like other shows like Hole in the Wall which is a pretty fun game show, and the pretty silly cartoon, Adventure Time (I have no idea why they like that show!).
Are your kids staying on top of their education without knowing it this summer?
