Netflix TGIF: Pizza and a Movie | #StreamTeam
Now that school has started back up, we all have a ton of things going on! For us, we have activities six nights out of the week. Between jujitsu and church, the only night we have absolutely free after school is Monday, and that’s usually set aside to get the bulk of homework done for the week! On Fridays, jujitsu lets out early, so that’s the day (if we do not have something else planned) that we like to try to set aside for Netflix Movie Night. We don’t really feel like driving out to the city so I’ll most likely order a pizza delivery and have a small walk to the convenience store for some drinks and snacks.
I really like that Netflix is the go-to for movies in our house. I’m HORRIBLE with returning movies to those red boxes that you see outside of stores, so this is absolutely perfect for us. No running out and swiping your credit card, no returning (or forgetting to return), and no worries about taking on extra fees if you didn’t get a chance to finish watching it in 24 hours. You favorite movies will be there tomorrow!
Netflix has great shows and movies for all ages.
Ok so don’t laugh… But…. I recently discovered that Netflix has COW AND CHICKEN! I LOOOOVE Cow and Chicken! It is the most goofy, crazy, annoying cartoon ever known to man, but I love it.
At any given time, I’ll randomly walk around my house singing:
“Mama had a chicken. Mama had a cow. Dad was proud. He didn’t care how.”
It embarrasses my kids, but yes, I go there. Often! (I. don’t. care.)
Right now, little man is obsessed with watching Curious George. When I need to get some work done during the day – like this post, it’s pretty fantastic that there are 90 episodes of the this cute little monkey and The Man in the Yellow Hat as well as 2 full movies (including a Christmas movie!) This will pretty much last him the entire school year! Thank God for Netflix! Aside for George, Netflix has a variety of other great shows and movies for the little ones in your life. Here are a handful!
Netflix Movie Night for the Littles
1. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2
2. The Pirate Fairy
3. Hoodwinked
4. Angelina Ballerina
5. Bob the Builder
6. The Muppet Movie
Then we move on to the boys. They’re not allowed to play games on their Xbox during the school week, but if they have downtime, they can use their Xbox to watch Netflix. I LOVE this about Netflix. They have multiple platforms! Their favorite is pretty much Adventure Time, and with two seasons worth of shows on Netflix, they can grab an episode when they’re not on-the-go!
Netflix Movie Night for the Bigger Kiddos
1. Strange Hill High
2. The Avengers
3. The Smurfs 2
4. Star Wars: The Clone Wars
5. Free Birds
6. Mako Mermaids: An H2O Adventure
Right now, the teen is still in the middle of watching One Tree Hill. This past week, she was home recovering from wrist surgery, so she got her fill. I find it neat that our interests in shows are starting to be similar. Most of the time, we can sit and watch the same series or movie. I’m not sure if she’s seen The Breakfast Club yet (yes, unforgivable), but I plan on having her watch it before this week is up!
If you haven’t seen the following, check them out! We like all of these!
Netflix Movie Night for the Teens (and Mama!)
1. Clueless
2. The Breakfast Club
3. Friday Night Lights
4. The Vampire Diaries
5. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
6. 13 Going on 30
When is the last time you had a movie night with the family? Did you order pizza and have lots of snacks? What did you watch?
Disclosure: I am part of the Netflix Stream Team. All opinions are my own.
We have Netflix and we just love it! My kids LOVE Cow and Chicken (me, not so much). We just did pizza and a movie a few nights ago.
my husband loves netflix 🙂 they have movie tuesday nights with his friends 🙂
My four year old is going to to be so excited to see The Pirate Fairy on Netflix! Its one of her favorites.
We have set up out Netflix on Roku for kids so we just hand them the remote and they can choose what they want. Right now the old Transformer cartoons are winning.
I’m totally with you on not wanting to return things, Netflix is perfect for us as well!
