After the kids get sick of eating their Halloween candy, there are a few creative ways to use it up instead of throwing it out. Plus, kids love helping out in the kitchen.

Leftover Halloween Candy

 

Send it to other children – The leftover saved candy that’s factory sealed makes a great addition to Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes. Not to mention that packing shoe boxes and teaching your kids to share their candy is a great way to teach your children how to give.

Save it for Christmas- You can save the candy to decorate gingerbread houses with during Christmas time. Just keep it in a cool, dry place until December rolls around.

Send it to a soldier-  You can send unopened candy to soldiers across the word via Operation Gratitude.
 It’s a great way to give back and say thank you to our troops by sending them a care package.

Use it to fill a pinata or party bags- If your child has a fall or winter birthday, save the leftover candy to fill a pinata with. Or you can use it to fill up party favor bags.

Make a brownie graveyard- Bake brownies in a 9 x 9 pan and allow to cool. Then place frosting of your choice on the top and decorate with “graveyard stones” aka cookies and Halloween candy. Even though it’s past Halloween, kids will love decorating and eating their graveyard.

Decorate cupcakes or a cake with it- Find a cake or cupcake recipe you love and use leftover candy to decorate it. This especially comes in handy if you have any school parties, potlucks, or birthdays coming up.
