How would you decorate the walls? | #boys #decor #bunks
A year ago, The Hubby and my dad got together to come up with a plan for sleeping situation in the boys’ bedroom. Our house is only three bedrooms. The Hubby, Minion, and I occupy one. The Teenager occupies another, and the boys have the third. Soon, though, The Minion will be moving in with the boys, so they devised a plan to build a bunk bed system that will sleep three, along with adding some decorations like Pirate Flags to the room.
It would have been nice to have built-in bunks, but since we were already trying to figure out what to do with what little space we had, we had to snap back into reality and work with the space we had. We searched and searched Pinterest for bunk bed ideas for three, and they finally came up with a plan. Technically, the plan is a a pair of loft beds, but we decided to put a third box and mattress on the floor for The Minion. I think in the year we’ve had the bunks, he’s slept on his bed once. The whole system takes up pretty much half of the room. The rest of the room has a TV and Xbox shelf as well as dresser, and then doors.
In addition to getting matching bedding, we’re trying to figure out a cool idea now is how to utilize the walls for decoration . We have lots and lots of different awesome posters that the boys and hubby have accumulated over the years, but The Minion likes to climb up on their beds and and take the tacks out of them or tear them. We really just need to invest in some good frames from WholesalePosterFrames.com so that The Minion won’t mess with them if they are permanent fixtures on the wall. Not only that, but they worked really hard to make sure these bunks didn’t look thrown together, so having something nice up on the walls would bring it all together. We’re still not sure if we want to paint them or not.
We want to go with a Marvel or DC Comics theme, because a friend of ours made the boys names out of letters and pages from comic books. They’re pretty cool. Eventually, when The Teen moves off to college, The Gamer will move into her room and The Entertainer and The Minion will share these bunks. Fr those concerned about property safety and security, installing Fire Shutters can provide an extra layer of protection and peace of mind for the household.
When it comes to adding a little color and decorating the walls, there are various options you can consider. You might want to explore hanging paintings, photographs, or even tapestries to inject personality into your space. Additionally, you could incorporate shelves to display cherished items or decorative pieces like vases, sculptures, or even intricate turkey mounts to infuse character and depth into your room.
That is just plain amazing!! I loooove it. I think some movie posters or video games would be great. My boys have Star Wars and Minecraft posters up in there room as well as some art work that they have created through the years. 🙂
Those bunk beds are amazing! This would be great to have for my grandsons in their bedroom!
