VSCO Cam (iOS and Android) There isn’t a day that I’m not singing the praises of VSCO Cam. This app is the bomb. One, it’s free. Two, the filters are some of the most realistic filters that I’ve come across in a photo editing app. It’s uber user friendly and you can turn great smart phone photos into fantastic ones thanks to this app. I use this for the majority of my iPhone photo editing.

Manual (iOS, but there is an Android version of this app that seems to be pretty similar.) If you have a DSLR camera or are familiar with manual settings on a camera, you’ll love this app. It allows you to adjust the shutter speed, ISO, white balance, focus, and exposure of your camera all in a few swipes. It costs $2.29, but for the photos you’ll get it’s totally worth it.

Touch Retouch (iOS and Android) This app is revolutionary. Instead of deleting photos that have unwanted content, now you can easily edit it out without messing up your photo. You simply select the unwanted content and let the app do all the work! It’s $1.19 in both the Apple and Google store.

Snapseed (iOS and Android) Featuring filters, spot repair, image and detail tuning, plus transforming the perspective, this app from Google is perfect for touching up any image. It’s free on both the Google and Apple store and just got a face lift!

Pic Collage (iOS and Android) With tons of fun fonts and stickers, this app is perfect for all the summer collages you’re going to want to make. The quality is better than most of the collage apps in both the Apple and Google store, so happily download it for free!

Shutter (iOS and Android) I don’t know about you, but with less than 16gb of data, I never have enough storage room. Especially when I’m snapping photos 24/7. This app makes it easy to keep all your summer photos without deleting any of your favorites! The storage is unlimited, and best of all, it’s free!
