Netflix Summer Originals | #StreamTeam
This summer, you’re going to need something to watch while taking a break from the heat. Netflix has some great original series to watch while you have downtime on vacation, waiting for your little one to finish with dance or baseball practices, or when you simply need time for yourself,
Now that baseball is in full swing, The Hubby is pretty upset that his Netflix time has been drastically reduced! I’m a huge baseball fan, so I love to watch the games from start to finish. He really didn’t want to upgrade to the baseball channel for the season, because he knew that I’d monopolize the TV in our room until October!
BUT, since my last Netflix post, we spent quite a bit of time watching the featured Netflix thriller, Bloodline. It turned out that the Rayburn family was more convoluted than we could have even imagined! If you haven’t seen it, it’s a great watch! We watched it from start to finish, and now, we’ve been looking for another Netflix Original Series to watch after the afternoon games or on the Astros’ off days.
Another series that The Hubby managed to get in before I took over the TV was the Netflix Original Marvel’s Daredevil. When I think of Daredevil, I think of Ben Affleck, When I asked him what he thought about the series, his response was, “Loved it! It was dark, gritty, and well written. The best Marvel series to date.”
According to Netflix, “”Marvel’s Daredevil” is a live action series that follows the journey of attorney Matt Murdock, who in a tragic accident was blinded as a boy but imbued with extraordinary senses. Murdock sets up practice in his old neighborhood of Hell’s Kitchen, New York where he now fights against injustice as a respected lawyer by day and masked vigilante at night.”
I recently ran across another mini-series that I think we’d be interested in watching. “Between is the story BETWEEN is the story of a town under siege from a mysterious disease that has wiped out everybody except those 21 years old and under. The series explores the power vacuum that results when a government has quarantined a 10-mile diameter area and left the inhabitants to fend for themselves.”
Although it sounds like something we’d watch, we haven’t started watching it yet, because we’re the kind of family that likes to record a whole season and then watch! This particular series is six episodes that started on May 21, and will air one episode per week every Thursday at 8:30 PT.
