Vacation ideas for families with active kids
Planning your vacation for the summer yet? It’s that time of year, and when you have a young family, it’s a double-edged sword. On the one hand, you are looking forward to it – but on the other, there’s a sense of trepidation.
Young kids can be harder to please when they aren’t on their home turf, so the vacation you have planned for so long can often be far from the relaxing experience you wanted. However, there is a trick to use that will take the edge off things – make sure you tire your children out every day! Here are some vacation ideas for families with active kids.
Go all-inclusive
Whether you are a fan of resort vacations or not, it’s almost guaranteed that your kids will love them. They are the perfect family breakaway for many reasons – just make sure that you find somewhere that has plenty of activities going on. If you can get an all-inclusive deal, even better. Phoenix resort deals are the best travel packages we have seen. You won’t have to cook; you can book activities for the kids in advance, and there may even be babysitting services on-site.
Camping
OK, so even though we love it, we know that camping isn’t for everyone. But, if you don’t mind roughing it a little, it’s a worthwhile trip away that the kids will love. When it comes to camping, it’s all about the location more than anything else. You can stay near a beach, near an activity park, or anywhere you like. And, it’s so much cheaper than staying in a hotel or resort. Not fond of sleeping under the stars? You can always cheat by getting yourself a new camper or equipment trailers. It will take you anywhere you want in the country, and provide a few extra home comforts.
Skiing
Are there any kids in the world that don’t love fooling around in the snow? If so, I would love to meet them. And, one of the best ways to experience the white stuff is to take your family away on a skiing trip. Now, these don’t come cheap – but there are a few ways to save. But, structured lessons and all that fresh air will help your kids drift off to sleep a lot earlier at night. Leaving you a lot more free time to enjoy your vacation, too.
Adventure Vacation
Take a look online and there are an incredible array of adventure holidays for families with kids of all ages. There’s hiking trips, water sports, water parks and many other fantastic things to consider. Look for alternative accommodation like a hotel near Disney or book a downtown modern hotel if you need to save a few dollars, and load up on day passes. Your kids will love it – and it’s something you will remember for a long time as a family.
So, there you have it. If you’re used to your children being over excited when on your holidays, then these ideas should help you out in a big way. There’s plenty for them to do, and it will tire them out enough for you to have a little time to yourselves. Never forget that as much as it is a family breakaway, you deserve to have a rest, too!
