DIY Loom Bands Valentines for Boys with Printable | #diy #valentines
So this year, I thought I’d be crafty for Valentine’s Day and give the boys something they can be proud to take as well as something the kids will love to receive. I always forget and put it off until the last minute, and we’re stuck digging through the Dollar Store cheapy leftovers Valentine Packs! Not this time!
DIY Loom Bands Valentines for Boys with Printable
I was going to do some cute Minecraft Bookmarks and Candy Bars, but when I ran to the Dollar Store to find candy, I saw the loom bands!! They had 300 bands for $1! I had already planned on putting about 30-40 in each bag, because that’s enough to make a bracelet! Each kiddo needed 21 Valentines, so I got 9 bags (3 for The Entertainer’s class, 3 for The Gamer’s class, and 1 each of them to keep plus 1 for The Teen).
What you need
- Cardstock Paper
- Loom Bands
- Snack Bags
- Candy
- Stapler
- Hole Punch
- Double Sided Tape (optional)
- Paper cutter
Each bag came with 300 bands and 11 S clips. I divided each bag of bands into 7 piles of bands which was approximately 40 bands each. I put them into a snack bag with an S clip.
I printed out the “Our Friendship Bands us Together!” graphic two to a page on colored cardstock. (Get the PDF File Here) I cut each of the cards out. They’re 6 inches x 4 inches which folds nicely over the top of a snack bag. You can add your child’s name to the bottom of the card.
For the cards with suckers, I punched two holes in the front side (only) of the card where I left room to the right. I didn’t have enough suckers to put on all of the cards, so I used double sided tape to attach candy to some of them. If you’d prefer, you can just add the candy to the bag or omit it.
Fold each card in half and staple the bottom of each card to the snack bags. They really turned out cute, and I’m pretty sure the kids will love them!
Now, The Teen is asking for me to make some for her friends! 🙂 Cool Mom Status
I am not sure if everyone feels the same way I do about Lisa, but she is very talented, creative, and always thinks outside the box. Of course I should know because, she is my daughter… Very good Lisa, I love what you have created!
Aww thanks mom! 🙂 That’s so sweet!
What an awesome Valentine idea for little boys! 🙂
what a cool idea! it’s nice to see something specific for boys since valentines day tends to be such a “girly” holiday 🙂
I felt the same way. Even some of the Minecraft things I was seeing are lovey or ask people to be their valentine. My boys don’t want all that! 🙂
Great Idea! With the loomband craze these are sure to be a huge hit!
I love this! The Loom bands are so big this year, this would definitely be a hit in school!
I just hope the teachers don’t end up hating me!! haha!
What a super cute idea! Love this because all my girls would enjoy this Valentine.
What a great idea! My boys are too old for Valentine’s cards at school, but this a great idea for my grandkids!
Very cute idea! I bet you will have cool mom status!
My son has just been introduced to these by his occupational therapist. I love that it is cool for boys, yet still a craft!
I have found that it keeps my boys occupied as well as calmer than if they’re doing anything else. They love it. They also work together with them better than anything else, too. The Gamer is really becoming more patient with the Entertainer. Especially when he can’t figure how where he’s messed up and needs his b big brother’s help!
How cool is that! We have so many of these bands around here, I never thought how affordable they’d be for Valentine’s Day.
What a really cute craft! And I love the fact that your mom comments on your blog. 🙂
Cute!
My son loves making bands for his friends! I love this idea! And… I agree with Andrew, how cool that your mom comments on your blog! 🙂
