VeggieTales: The Little House That Stood Review & #Giveaway (3/20)
gotta VeggieTales. When VeggieTales first came out, I loved, because they had a Larry and Bob. We have always called my dad Larry Bob. It was kinda cool to look at this new Christian animation concept and think, "hey, those are my dad's names!" But in reality, it was great to have fun and interesting figures turn into silly role models, for our kids, right before our eyes. I'm always amazed, and excited, to see what new and off the wall ways that Big Idea, Inc. comes up with to portray the stories and parables from the Bible. VeggieTales: The…
Phone call from principal made my heart drop!
As a mom of four, I want nothing else than to see my kids to well and succeed in school and life. It's often a struggle for the baby of the family to become the big brother, so we were really worried about how well Hawk would do when he started school this year. Surprisingly enough, he has been doing SO well. My little lazy, whiny, snaggle-toothed, mama's boy has amazed us all year long. At the last parent/teacher conference, his teacher told Andy that he's already exceeded all of the expectations for Kindergarten for the year (and it was…
Sick streppy boys! | #WordlessWednesday #ww
We're still sick around here! The boys both have strep, Andy thinks his is the flu, and the baby just spiked a fever this morning! Nice. Kylie is better and back in school, though, and I don't have time to be sick! Shout out for Brandi Sawyer and team at Baytown Family Clinic Pediatrics! My kiddos and I love her! She's so personable, has a gentle hand and heart for the kids, and she's just flat out wonderful! Here are two pics of two different days at the doctor for the boys! I didn't realized they both wore the same…
Teen down. Teen down.
This weekend, Kylie went the Hot Hearts Youth Conference in Beaumont where she was surrounded by about 7,400 other kiddos, and they had an absolute blast! This week, it's a different story. Sunday night, she started running a low grade fever. The youth were leading the Sunday night service at church, so my mom took her up there so the could get up and speak about conference. Apparently, they are housed in various churches, and a few of the leaders told us that they had the A/C set to around 45 degrees (who does that!?), so the kids were freezing…

Why are you saving your money, Braxton? #kids #starwars #legos #toyota
After a conversation that went on between Hawk and Andy last night, Hawk looked over and said that he doesn't have money, but Braxton does. Braxton looks up from the Kindle and says, "Yeah, I'm saving my money." Andy asks him what he's saving for. Braxton says, "Well, I'm saving my money to buy Legos, of course, and a truck. Andy asks him what kind of truck. Braxton shoots back immediately, and says "A Toyota." Andy laughs, and says, "well, ok then!" He thinks for a second and asks him, "do you just want a Toyota because it has the…
Why Hawk melted down when he checked the mail! #kids #bills
Yesterday, Andy asked Hawk to check the mail. When he came in, Andy told him there was a "bill", and Hawk grabbed it and really wanted it. When Andy asked for it back, he told him "you don't have money to pay it," and Hawk got so upset. We let him have it and open it up, and Andy looks at it and said, "You definitely don't have $17,000!" Hawk started bawling. Hysterically. This went on for about 15 minutes. Finally, when he calmed down enough to tell us what was wrong, he said, "I don't have that much money!! …
The Gamer: God put that rock there for a reason. #geek #minecraft
My kids are seriously geeks. Like seriously. They're playing Minecraft, of course, and The Entertainer (5) pretty much plays just to destroy things. This makes The Gamer (8) mad every. single. time. This particular time, The Entertainer is going through destroying everything and The Gamer looks at him and says, "God put that rock there for a reason, so I don't think you move it." After a few moments, he says, "You remember that from Goonies?" Geeks, I tell ya. It's awesome, but they're geeks.
