Why are my boys talking about Hemorrhoids? | #Minecraft Giggles

Welcome to another episode of Minecraft Giggles. So I'm in the kitchen making cookies for the kidlets, when I hear the boys in the living room having the strangest conversation! Braxton:  Wow, that's a lot of hemorrhoids. Hawk:  I know, he needs more. Braxton:  I wonder how he got them.  Another hemorrhoid.  They just keep popping up. I walk into the living room, and I see they're watching a youTube video on the Xbox with some guy playing Minecraft, of course.  The guy was looking over his inventory, and I got a better listen at what Braxton said. Braxton:  Another…

Move ‘N Groove Kids DVD Review & Giveaway (1/18) #Fitness #Kids

For much of the kiddos' Christmas vacation, it's been cold and rainy.  I can count the number of days, on one hand, that they've actually been able to play outside or go to the park.  Today is going to be another one of those days.  The rain is supposed to set in, soon.  It's extremely important, for me, in the new year, to keep my kiddos active.  I've decided that enough is enough, and we're getting back into our healthy and active routines.  Move 'N Groove Kids DVDs have helped my kids stay moving around while stuck inside! Move 'N…

Out of the mouths of Geeklets! #Minecraft Giggles #kidssay

My boys play Minecraft. A lot. They also say words wrong.  A lot. For instance, when they are supposed to be "mining", they are "minding". When something is supposed to be "spawning", they are "spawneding".  Or "spawned" is "spawneded". On New Year's Even, Andy and I attended a Sunday School Party, and the boys stayed with my parents for the few hours we were there.  After we picked them up, and we got home, I asked the boys, "Did you mind Mimi and Papa?" They booth looked at me like I was crazy, and immediately shook their heads no! It…

I can’t imagine. | A look into the lives of those lost. #sandyhook #newtown

I can't imagine.  The pain.  The sorrow. The fears.  The unanswered questions.  The constant tears. The sleepless nights. The unopened gifts under the tree this year. The loss.  The what-if's.  The sadness.  The empty beds.  The empty hearts. Twenty families were unable to do what I did this morning, and make sure their children were up and ready for school.  Six other families were unable to do what I did this morning and tell their loved ones goodbye and I love you before as they headed out the door to go to work. I can't imagine. Yesterday morning, before heading…

My boys sleep in the strangest, yet sweetest positions.

My boys have always slept in separate beds.  When Hawk was born, Braxton moved (that day, on his own) from our bed to his own twin bed, and when Jett was born, Hawk moved (a couple of weeks later, on his own) from our bed to his own twin bed.  Even when they had twin beds, we'd find that we'd wake up to Hawk in Braxton's bed, and oftentimes vice versa. When we moved into our new home in July, we were given a queen bed, and rather than rush to get their bunks built (small room), we put the…

Look what was in my laundry!

This weekend, Andy and I were talking about how the lizards and geckos are pretty much gone from our area, even thought it was getting up into the 80's last week.  Sunday night, a cold front blew through Texas, and it has dropped down into the 50's, 40's, and 30's.  Not all that uncommon for December in most places, but here in Houston, we love it, because it's been so hot for so long. Monday morning, I was folding some laundry on my laundry cabinet, and I saw something move out of the corner of my eye.  Low and behold,…

I hate having to do surgery on my kids! | #parenting

In the past two weeks, I've had two things fall on the floor and break.  One was a bottle of vanilla (full bottle, too!) that was made of amber glass, and the other one was a coffee mug that Andy gave me from when the Super Bowl was in Houston.  That one, Jett picked up and threw across the living room. With the vanilla bottle, I thought I cleaned up with really well.  Not once, but TWICE, we found Jett with larger shards of glass from that bottle in house mouth. Yesterday, when Jett broke my coffee mug, I pieced…
