I dread the morning routine! #schoodays

I am SO not a fan of morning routines. Dread sets in, for me, right about the time I roll over and notice that it's after 4 am.  Although I don't actually get up to get the boys ready for school until 6:20 am, I lay there wishing for the day when they can get up and get dressed by themselves! This is every morning. --> Kylie gets up and gets dressed and out the door on her own, so that's great, but neither of the boys usually want to wake up. It doesn't matter if clothes are already laid…

Bluegrass, Comedy, Flashy Costumes, and Lots of Food – All in One! | Dixie Stampede

As you may have read in one of my previous posts, my parents went to Pigeon Forge way-back-when, and they were excited to find out that Dixie Stampede was on our itinerary for Brandcation #4!  Dixie Stampede Pigeon Forge Attraction is a great place to go for awesome food, high energy, and tons of entertainment. What I didn't know is that each show seats and feeds 1,200 people!  That's a lot of people, and tons of food. One of my favorite parts of Dixie Stampede was actually the pre-show.  It was awesome to sit and listen to the bluegrass trio.  The guys…

Is your child a spender or a saver?

When I was a kid, I was always a saver.  I always had more money in my piggy bank than my sisters, I'd try to hang on to birthday money as long as possible, and I almost always spent my money wisely when I did spend it.  Now that I have kids, I'm seeing how they differ in their spending habits!  Are you teaching your children to save money? I have to admit that we haven't really been teaching our kids to save money.  We should start.  We've talked to them about the different things they want to purchase, and…

Dollywood is #Breastfeeding Friendly! | #Brandcation

Being a nursing mom, I'm always on the look out for places that have accommodations for moms who breastfeed.  Aside from the awesome hospitality, Dollywood is breastfeeding friendly! When we arrived, Jenn from asked me if I noticed the nursing stations located around the park, and I went out on a mission to find them!   To my surprise, located in the bathroom area, I found a cozy little room with a comfy glider rocker in the air conditioning with a door that said "Nursing Room". On a side note, it was awesome to see some babywearing dads while I…

Vtech Switch & Go Dinos Review & Video Contest

It's pretty much common knowledge.  Boys love dinosaurs, and boys love vehicles.  It was a pretty safe bet to say it was a brilliant idea to do a Vtech Switch & Go Dinos Review!  My boys were thrilled when the huge Vtech package arrived, and they have spent hours playing with their dinos! We received two dinos for the boys.  We gave Braxton the Brok the Brachiosaurus Dinosaur and Hawk staked his claim on the Span the Spinosaurus Dinosaur. Hawk loves it when he transforms Span from the plane to the dinosaur he says "My name is Span.  Nice to…

DIY Non-Skid Baby Socks Tutorial

The weather is getting cooler (even for Houston) and I decided, yesterday, to go get Jett some socks.  My mom suggested that I get the non-skid socks.  After doing a price comparison, they were so much more expensive than regular socks, so I decided to buy plain socks and make some DIY non-skid baby socks. I prefer socks that aren't completely white so that no one can tell just how dirty my floors are, so I get the Fruit of the Loom brand with the gray bottoms (approximately $5 for a 6 count at Walmart). While shopping for socks for…

What is the difference between leaking and wicking? #ClothDiapers

I've had several people ask me "What is the difference between leaking and wicking?", so I thought I'd take a few minutes to let you know the difference between the two. What is the difference between leaking and wicking? Leaking: The proper definition of a leak is to enter or escape through an opening usually by a fault or mistake. When poop or pee spills out of the front, back, or legs of the diaper, this is called leaking.  Leaking can happen when a diaper is not put on properly or when a diaper does not fit properly. Leaking is never…
