Valentine’s Day – When You’re Married to a Geek! #geeky #lovenotes

This is what  I saw on my desktop when I opened my computer this morning! How sweet.  Andy changed my background.  When I clicked on the "Open Me" Folder, this is what I found. Somehow, I lost the Original Twilight Soundtrack.  The movie isn't great, but the soundtrack is fantastic!  AND, I just watched Breaking Dawn for the first time this past weekend, and I liked the soundtrack as well, so he got me that one, too! As I started typing this post, my background changed. Then, it changed again (I missed this one twice!)   And Yes, this is…

Bug-Out Bags or Survival Kits in Case of an Emergency (or Zombie Take-Over)

Not too long ago, my friend Maria and I started talking about bug-out bags and how everyone should have one in case of an emergency. At first, I thought she just meant that she has a bag with important papers in case something happens, they can just grab and go.  But, the more research I do on them, the more I realize that every household should have some type of bug-out bag or emergency survival kit ready to grab and go at a moment's notice. A well-stocked emergency kit with survival products tailored to your specific location and potential hazards…

Why do our kids play baseball in Houston? Basketball goals are usually indoors!!

Reality is sinking in.  We're about to be again. If y'all remember, this time last year, we had three kiddos in ball while the fourth was a newly developed bean which made for awesome times - *insertsarcasmhere* Being the One Tree Hill (swoon) junkie that I am (I'm currently on season 3, no spoilers, y'all!), I keep asking myself why we've been so gung ho for our kidlets to play baseball/softball?  If we were smart, we'd have opted for basketball from the get go, or maybe get Netball Court Specialists to setup a court was a good idea as well. Organized…

Facebook Parenting: For the troubled teen. *this video comes with a language warning*

I almost never post anything that has to come with a language warning.  I don't feel the need to emphasize anything on my blog with bad language, and as a matter of fact, I can't remember the last time I did.  HOWEVER, Andy sent me this video, and I can totally see where this guy is coming from.  This is exactly why Kylie doesn't have a Facebook. From the dad: Warning: Since this video seems to have gone crazy, I figure I'll post this notice. I'm going to read a letter my 15 year old daughter wrote. There ARE some…

Over 52 Million Americans without Health Insurance | Walgreens Can Help

This post brought to you by Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine. I'm not big on Western Medicine, but I also know that there is a time and a place for everything.  Sometimes, we need to put our faith in the medical system to get well, and this often includes western prescription medications. Did you know, that according to Bloomberg researchers, a report in 2011 showed there are over 52 million American adults without health insurance?  On top of that, an additional 73 million adults have a hard time paying for the health coverage they have, and 75 million adults simply…
