Vtech Switch & Go Dinos Review & Video Contest

It's pretty much common knowledge.  Boys love dinosaurs, and boys love vehicles.  It was a pretty safe bet to say it was a brilliant idea to do a Vtech Switch & Go Dinos Review!  My boys were thrilled when the huge Vtech package arrived, and they have spent hours playing with their dinos! We received two dinos for the boys.  We gave Braxton the Brok the Brachiosaurus Dinosaur and Hawk staked his claim on the Span the Spinosaurus Dinosaur. Hawk loves it when he transforms Span from the plane to the dinosaur he says "My name is Span.  Nice to…

DIY Non-Skid Baby Socks Tutorial

The weather is getting cooler (even for Houston) and I decided, yesterday, to go get Jett some socks.  My mom suggested that I get the non-skid socks.  After doing a price comparison, they were so much more expensive than regular socks, so I decided to buy plain socks and make some DIY non-skid baby socks. I prefer socks that aren't completely white so that no one can tell just how dirty my floors are, so I get the Fruit of the Loom brand with the gray bottoms (approximately $5 for a 6 count at Walmart). While shopping for socks for…

September 15 is a popular day for births! Happy Birthing Day!

I've been up since about 5:30 thinking about birth.  It could be, because, in my life, today is a popular day for births. Two of my nephews, Tyler and Samuel, were born on September 15 (different years).  I have a cousin who's little one, Karlee, was born on September 15.  I've had TWO clients have babies on different September 15ths, and right now, I have two friends who are hoping and praying that today is the last day that they are pregnant because they are both right on the cusp of going into labor! Kealy, who has been a long…

Where were you? My story always starts with – Kylie had pink eye…

Kylie had pink eye. Where were you? Andy and I had been married for one month, exactly, and we were living in Hewitt, Texas, right outside of Waco. We lived one block from my office at a small holiday decor company, and I was waiting on Andy to get back.  He was already at work, and I called him to come home to stay with Kylie, because I'd just started my new job, and could not really take off. In our bedroom, I turned on the little portable TV that we had on our nightstand.  It was a TV that…

Show me your front door – A Photo a Week

Since we've moved into the new house with the help of a home moving company, which is mentioned here at , everyone wants to see pics of the inside, not the outside.  I don't think I've had anyone say "show me your front door"! The front of our house needs some sprucing up, but my front entry and door both have lots of potential! Considering some new front doors for homes might be a good start. The brick is white-ish, the siding is brown, the garage door is brown, the carport is brown, the door is a different shade of brown,…

Katie Couric Talk Show Interview – “Katie” premiers Sept 10 on ABC

This is Part 3 of my Katie Couric Talk Show Interview Series. Katie Couric Talk Show Interview Part 1 Katie Couric Talk Show Interview Part 2 Looking back, I probably didn't really blow the Katie Couric Talk Show interview, but it could have gone so much better! After brief introductions, we were escorted back to a conference room where we passed a courtyard at KTRK - TV ABC 13 complete with swimming pool and lounge chairs.  Katie and I both commented on the pool and we were told that it's never really used and mainly makes a great background for…
