Bloggers do not work for FREE. Please don’t expect us to.

My blog started out as something fun.  I used to be on a different URL, and once I decided I was serious about blogging, I cracked down, bought this URL and decided to build up it.  I've also started blogging full time for another blog (which I will not name to save the innocent). That blogging is a job.  Sure, a lot of it is fun, but I sit here for 8 hours or more a day, and blog, juggling kiddos, diapers, lunches, school drop off and pick up, and all the other stuff that comes with being a wife…

Remember the Monchhichi? REVISITED!!!

So I'm NOT the only person who remember the Monchhichis!!!!  Apparently, those at Zulily are getting schooled on them, too!  AWESOME! It ALMOST makes me want to go blow my entire Zulily credit on one of these guys.  Almost. Previous Post Content Do you remember these strange looking toys?  Several of my friends, my age, haven't ever heard the name or seen the dolls before, and I think it's absolutely bizarre! I can't be the only person who remembers the Monchhichi dolls!  I had several, and from time to time, when my boys need a haircut, I call them Monchhichis!…

I never would have guessed some of these video game statistics!

Where does your family fall in these video game categories?  We're raising a family of gamer geeks (check the link for my post on this), but I never would have guessed that more people play the Wii than other consoles!   I think the #1 selling game (look at the bottom of the graphic) is only because it's the game that comes (or used to come) with the console!  What do you think? via

Unbelievable Music Machine Video – This took a LOT of time and effort!

This video is almost unbelievable. Check out how all of the balls wind up in catcher cones.  It's amazing!  Your kiddos will definitely love this! This incredible machine was built as a collaborative effort between the Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering at the University of Iowa. Amazingly, 97% of the machine's components came from John Deere Industries and Irrigation Equipment of Bancroft, Yes, farm equipment!   It took the team a combined 13,029 hours ( years) of set-up, alignment, calibration, and tuning before filming this video but as you can see, it was. WELL worth…

Personal Diary of Harold E. Hensley, USMC – World War II, Pacific War | #VeteransDay

Diary of "Harold E. Hensley" United States Marine Corps, from April 29, 1945 Harold Hensley was my grandfather on my mom's side.  We called him "Papa".  He was born November 27, 1927 and lived a full life.  He passed away on September 6, 1999 due to cancer. My Papa was one of the coolest men anyone could have ever known.  He was a kind, gentle man who would give you his last dime (or $2 bill!) even if he was starving. I only wish my husband could have met him and my kids would have had the chance to know…

So how much did Earl Bennett REALLY lose for his bright orange shoes?

I started to search for something on my phone this morning, when bright orange shoes caught my eye.  Yes, it was the cover story on AT&T's mobile site (my default - pfft) that made me click.  The headline? NFL Player Fined for What He Wore I clicked on "See for yourself" Apparently, Earl Bennett was fined $5,000 for wearing these shoes: Even though he was warned that he would be fined, Bennett makes $550,000 a year, so he wasn't really worried about one fine.  HOWEVER, the question isn't if his wife was upset with him for letting those orange Nikes…
