I'm not sure if it's all schools or just Barbers Hill, but Hawk has this thing called "Reading Rocks", and they have to read 50 books in a certain amount of time to be able to go to a "Reading Rocks" party.  It's designed to get kids used to, and enjoy, reading books with their family members.
